By the end of the 1930s and the beginning of the 1940s, the popular realistic art in the 1930s was out of fashion again, and modernism was making a comeback in the United States. A painter named Milton Brown, who had been in the army for three years in the late 1930s, returned to New York and was surprised to find that galleries full of realistic Large Wall Art had suddenly been replaced by abstract paintings. He said, "The abstract painting in the dark has suddenly become the protagonist of the emergence. Walking along the street, you will see that the Custom Abstract Paintings has become the fashion of today, which was not the case three years ago." Obviously, the fashion of art has changed again, but this is not only the result of changing tastes and colors in artistic interest, but also driven by the political, economic and popular orientation of an era. In the final analysis, modern art in the United States is not a matter of more than one variety, but the inevitable destination - a fully modern society, must be a fertile soil for modern art to take root. Modern art does not seek to "settle down" in the United States, but where to settle down?
There are many people in the United States who imitate Large Abstract Canvas Art. One is the promotion of art education by the outstanding European teachers mentioned earlier. The other is the arrival of "cold abstract" painter Mondrian in 1939 in the United States. He is one of the modern art masters respected by Americans. As soon as he arrived in the United States, he was surrounded by American artists. His art was imitated and studied by many American painters who loved Abstract paintings. Collectors competed to collect his works. In 1945, the New York Museum of Modern Art held a large retrospective exhibition for him. So at that time, there were many people who drew his abstract paintings. It is no exaggeration to say that most abstract paintings in the American geometric style of the 1940s came from Mondrian's art (Fig. 53). Mondrian's abstract style is highly praised by Americans, largely because his abstract paintings show the essence of the universe, which is considered as an art form not limited by the times, regions and nationalities. Those American artists who want to create "international style" feel that they can get rid of the trouble of "nationalism" and create international works of art along this direction. American artists also set up a special group to create Big Abstract Painting - "American Abstract artists".
